Kevin's Corner

Kevin, my 1959 Royal Enfield Meteor Minor De Luxe

(He was already named Kevin when I got him. It is a tribute to Kevin Turner, an RAF guy whose Meteor jet crashed at the Mildenhall air show, 1986.)

Tornado's Titbits

Tornado, my 1994 "Bavanar special import" Indian military bullet.

Starting proceedure for 'Tornado'.

A Bavanar brochure from the 1990's They were the Enfield Bullet importers at that time.
Bavanar had the factory paint the gold pin-striping on the military models, hoping to increase sales. Tornado is one of these imports.

Various sheets from Amal, covering their carburettors

PLEASE NOTE: The content of Petrol has changed over the years and so the manufactures recommendations for main jet size no longer apply.

You need to reduce the size by about 5%, therefore a 250 main jet should be changed to a 240 or 230, whichever works better. If the jet is wrong,
you will get 'jumping' and uneven running when the throttle is between ¾ and full.
I changed Kevin's from a 250 to a 230, and the coughing problem was solved!
